60th Anniversary & Family Sports Day Celebration
23 June 2017
On Sunday 18 June 2017 Studley Park Kindergarten celebrated its 60th Anniversary and also held the Annual Sports Day at Kew Primary School.
It was a gorgeous mild winter day and about 30 kinder families and our teachers were greeted with the sights, sounds and smells of the sizzling sausages and hissing espresso machine. Our Coffee & Cake and Sausage Sizzle stalls were a great hit with both big and little people. Yellow Group children first kicked off the sponsored Fun Run with their colourful batons, followed by Blue Group. All the children completed several laps in the school gym, jumping over mini hurdles and climbing over foam blocks amidst enthusiastic cheering from parents, siblings and grandparents.
Then it was time to sing Happy Birthday to our kinder, with cake cutting and raffles drawing. Congratulations to all the lucky winners.
The day was also a great success as a fundraising event, a truly awesome effort for such a small community. We will be working with our teachers in putting these funds to good use in the classroom in the coming months – watch out for more updates.
The teachers and Parent Committee would like to thank everyone for coming to support our kinder and thank you to all the volunteers: Eleena, Ava, Michael, Mark, Tania, Tanya, Susie, Darren, Seraphine, Damien, Ian, Georgie, Larissa, Angelo, Meaghan, Rebecca D, Rebecca A, Suzanne, Yuting, Evelyn and anyone else who lent a hand on the day. Most of all we want to give a big shout-out to Eleena who is the lead organiser – from planning and marketing to sourcing and transporting donations and supplies, to running the event.
We are also hugely grateful to all the following businesses that support us with donations.
THANK YOU TO OUR 2017 SPONSORS
